Job summary

Reworld is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the Electrical Design Engineering team and oversee electrical design activities for the Energy-from-Waste process across 30+ facilities in North America. You will provide design leadership for high-voltage, medium-voltage and low-voltage systems, including breakers, transformers, MCCs, and protective relaying.

Qualifications

• 15-20 years of experience in an electrical engineering role, including at least five years of leadership experience.
• Experience with MV and HV systems (e.g., switchgear, motor control centers, protective relaying, transformers).
• Experience across the project execution lifecycle (concept design, construction, commissioning, start-ups).
• Technical due diligence experience for equipment sourcing from Low-cost countries will be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Discipline/Design Engineering: Manage, prioritize, and assign work across the Electrical Engineering team and SMEs.
• Capital Projects: Lead electrical infrastructure design engineering for capital projects.
• Technical Programs: Lead technical programs of strategic importance to the company.
• Technical Standards: Develop, maintain, and continuously improve electrical specifications/design standards library.
• Operations Support: Provide engineering support to operations and implement technology upgrades.
• External Engineering Partners: Engage and manage outside engineering firms for technically sound designs.
• Front-End Loading (FEL): Lead front-end design activities for capital projects in line with FEL processes.
• Coaching and Mentoring: Mentor SMEs, including training on FEL tools and best practices.
• Feasibility Studies: Lead feasibility studies, evaluating total cost of ownership and recommending balanced solutions.
