Job summary

Reworld is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the Electrical Design Engineering team for the Energy-from-Waste process across North America. You will oversee design for HV, MV, and LV systems, collaborate with site/regional teams, and drive major capital projects and feasibility studies with a focus on safety, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering/Science (Electrical Engineering) from an accredited institution.
• 15-20 years of experience in an electrical engineering role, including at least five years of leadership experience.
• Experience with MV and HV systems (e.g., switchgear, motor control centers, protective relaying, transformers).

Responsibilities

• Discipline/Design Engineering: Manage, prioritize, and assign work across the Electrical Engineering team and SMEs.
• Capital Projects: Lead electrical infrastructure design engineering for capital projects.
• Technical Programs: Lead technical programs of strategic importance to the company.
• Technical Standards: Develop, maintain, and improve electrical specifications/design standards library.
• Operations Support: Provide engineering support to operations and technology upgrades.
• External Engineering Partners: Engage and manage outside engineering firms for viable electrical designs.
• Front-End Loading (FEL): Lead front-end design activities for capital projects.
• Coaching and Mentoring: Mentor and develop SMEs, including FEL tools training.
• Feasibility Studies: Lead feasibility studies evaluating total cost of ownership and balancing technical + economic considerations.
