Job summary

Reworld Waste is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the Electrical Design Engineering team across North America, guiding high- and medium-voltage infrastructure for energy-from-waste facilities. You will oversee design for 26 kV to 230 kV systems, transformers, MCCs, switchgear, and protection schemes while collaborating with site teams and capital programs.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of electrical engineering experience with at least 5 years in leadership.
• Experience in MV/HV systems and electrical design for large facilities.
• Experience across the project lifecycle: concept design, construction, commissioning, and start-ups.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States is highly desired; Six Sigma Green Belt desirable.

Responsibilities

• Discipline/Design Engineering: manage and assign work across the Electrical Engineering team.
• Capital Projects: lead electrical infrastructure design for capital projects.
• Technical Programs: lead strategic programs for the company.
• Technical Standards: develop and maintain electrical specifications and standards library.
• Operations Support: provide engineering support and evaluate technology upgrades.
• External Engineering Partners: manage outside firms to deliver sound designs.
• Front-End Loading (FEL): lead front-end design activities for capital projects.
• Coaching and Mentoring: mentor SMEs and train on FEL tools.
• Feasibility Studies: lead studies evaluating total cost of ownership and balance technical/economic considerations.
