Job summary

Management Performance Associates is seeking a hands-on Tax Manager to own the ASC 740 income tax provision and coordinate outsourced tax functions across federal, state, and local levels.

In this role, you will manage the provision process, review tax returns and workpapers, and partner with external advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate tax reporting and timely deliverables in a fast-paced, PE-backed environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with ASC 740 income tax provision and related journal entries.
• Experience with federal and state income tax compliance for C-Corp.
• Familiarity with outsourced tax environments (Big 4 / regional firms).
• Working knowledge of Avalara or similar sales tax systems.
• Proven ability to manage audits and interact with tax authorities.
• Strong project management and coordination mindset.
• Independent, hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.

Responsibilities

• Own the annual ASC 740 income tax provision, including current and deferred calculations and supporting schedules.
• Serve as primary liaison with external tax advisors and coordinate filings and workpapers.
• Oversee outsourced sales/use tax compliance processes and ensure timely filings.
• Support tax operations and strategy across multi-jurisdictional compliance.
• Drive process improvements and coordinate with internal teams and providers to meet deadlines.
