Job summary

Shamin Hotels is seeking a Guest Service Agent in Glen Allen, VA to assist guests with check-in/out, reservations, and daily hotel services. You will interact with guests in person and online, provide information about local activities, and ensure accurate room assignments and billing.

The role involves handling guest inquiries, processing payments, and coordinating with other hotel staff to deliver a seamless guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests.
• Issues room key and escort instructions to Bell person or guest.
• Date-stamps, sorts and racks incoming mail and messages.
• Transmits and receives messages using telephone, fax and switchboard.
• Answers inquiries about hotel services, registration, dining and directions.
• Keeps records of room availability and guests’ accounts.
• Computes bill, collects payment and makes change for guests.
• May make, confirm and cancel reservations for guests.
• Posts charges such as room, food, liquor or telephone.
• May arrange restaurant, transportation or entertainment reservations.
• May deposit guests’ valuables in hotel safe.
• May order flowers or Champaign for special guests.
• Enforces hotel company credit policies.
• accounts for all cash and makes deposits.
• Communicates with other front office and hotel departments.
• Takes initiative to greet guests warmly.
• Cross-sells other Shamin Hotels.
• Performs other related duties as required.
