Job summary

Watson Clinic in Lakeland, FL seeks a friendly Patient Access receptionist to warmly greet patients at registration and guide them through the check-in process. You will verify demographics, insurance, and collect payments while ensuring HIPAA compliance and accuracy in Epic scheduling.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Supervisory Staff, assisting with cross-training, monitoring wait times, and supporting staff during peak periods to maintain high patient satisfaction and smooth clinic

Qualifications

• All related education and experience must be within the last two years.
• High School graduate or GED equivalent.
• Advanced understanding of medical, insurance, scheduling, customer service, billing/payment processing and legal terminology.
• Experience as a trainer or lead position in customer service, medical appointment scheduling, billing/payment processing or similar.
• Proficient in Epic appointment scheduling system.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients at registration desk and assist with check-in.
• Verify demographics and insurance information; update as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA privacy and accurate Epic scheduling processes.
• Provide training and cross-training to GEN staff as needed.
• Monitor lobby wait times and coordinate staffing coverage.
