Job summary

American Girl, a premium brand of Mattel, seeks a friendly Host for the New York City retail store and cafe. You will greet guests, seat them, manage reservations, and work with the restaurant team to deliver an outstanding dining experience in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires flexibility to work Friday through Sunday, with a strong emphasis on customer service and hospitality. Knowledge of reservation and POS systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as a restaurant host, hotel concierge, or related customer service position, preferred.
• Computer skills including restaurant reservation and POS systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and basic office equipment.
• Experience working with children, preferred.
• Must have Friday, Saturday, Sunday availability.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and seat them by maintaining waitlists and maximizing seating capacity.
• Manage large crowds professionally and resolve challenging service situations.
• Create and maintain a pleasant dining room ambiance through lighting, music and table setup.
• Communicate setup and special requests to the restaurant team.
• Share information on store and restaurant events with guests.
