Job summary

The American Girl New York City retail store and Cafe is looking for a dynamic Server to deliver food and beverages and provide an outstanding dining experience to our guests. This part-time seasonal position supports a fast-paced cafe team in a flagship store, requiring upbeat communication and a positive approach with children and families.

You will greet guests, explain menu options and allergy information, perform efficient service, upsell when appropriate, maintain clean tables, and process

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a high-volume and/or fine dining restaurant.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Banquet or catering experience is a plus.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Ease of use with restaurant computer systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers upon arrival and inform guests of food and beverage options.
• Demonstrate knowledge of menu items and ingredients; suggest items for guests with allergies.
• Address customer concerns and requests professionally and promptly.
• Provide full service: upsell, deliver orders, clear and reset tables, process checks via Infogenesis register.
• Follow safety guidelines and health sanitation laws local to the venue.
• Support restaurant team during parties, store events, and other projects.

Skills

Two years of experience in high volume

Banquet or catering experience

Experience working with children

Restaurant computer systems

ServSafe certification (preferred)
