Job summary

Hornblower Corp is seeking a Deckhand to maintain vessel cleanliness and guest comfort while underway. You will assist with docking and undocking, communicate with guests, and support the captain and crew in safety and operations.

Qualities include strong customer service, physical stamina to lift 50 pounds, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Proficiency with basic MS Office is a plus and CPR/First Aid certification is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
  • Proven customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure.
  • Comfort with basic computer tasks, including MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hospitality to guests and coworkers as defined in the RESPECT SERVICE SYSTEM.
  • Follow safety procedures to protect passengers and vessel.
  • Participate in safety drills for major incidents and routine operations.
  • Handle lines to moor vessels to pier.
  • Stand watch to observe navigation aids and obstructions.
  • Assist with maintenance of vessel equipment and systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of all common areas.
  • Sweep, mop, and wash decks and exterior surfaces.
  • Load or unload materials and remove trash.
  • Service and supply restrooms; ensure readiness for guests.
