Job summary

Hornblower Corp in the United States is seeking a Deckhand to maintain the vessel’s appearance, ensure guest comfort and safety while underway, and assist with docking and undocking. This role requires superb guest service and communication skills.

Responsibilities include safety procedures, drills, mooring lines, watch duty, and assisting with equipment maintenance. Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Strong customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Must be available for nights, weekends and major holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hospitality to guests and coworkers according to RESPECT SERVICE SYSTEM.
  • Follow safety procedures to protect passengers and vessel.
  • Participate in routine safety drills for major incidents.
  • Handle lines to moor vessels to pier.
  • Stand watch and identify navigational aids and obstructions.
  • Assist with vessel equipment maintenance (HVAC, engines, tech).
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of all common areas.
  • Load/unload materials and manage trash.
  • Serve and stock restrooms; keep grooming and appearance standards.
  • Be prepared to start work at scheduled times.
