Job summary

Hornblower is seeking a Deckhand to monitor deck areas aboard our vessels, assist with docking and underway operations, and provide high level customer service to guests. You will handle lines, perform maintenance, and support crew in safety procedures while ensuring a clean, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring safety, participating in drills, assisting boarding and disembarking, and balancing cash for concessions.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • TWIC Card or ability to obtain and maintain
  • First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain and maintain
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Monitor passenger and crewmember safety on the vessel and ensure equipment use complies with guidelines.
  • Participate in meetings, drills, safety audits as required by USCG and company policy.
  • Handle mooring lines to dock or undock the vessel and assist with underway operations.
  • Perform lookout duties and monitor the waterway for potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Sell tickets and concessions; manage ticketing equipment, inventory and cash.
  • Provide refreshments to guests when needed and assist with boarding/disembarking of passengers and vehicles.
  • Perform custodial tasks, maintenance, minor engineering rounds and repairs as directed.
