Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a friendly and professional Guest Services Agent for our Washington, DC area property. You will serve as the first point of contact for guests, handling front desk tasks, guest relations, and transactions with a strong commitment to Sonesta’s service standards.

Responsibilities include registering guests, answering calls, processing payments, upselling rooms, and supporting the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of previous hotel experience, or retail customer service preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Math skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages and variances preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room location.
• Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions per procedures.
• Maintain security of cash, credit card transactions, and guest information.
• Upsell rooms when possible to maximize revenue.
• Follow seasonal reservation strategy for pricing and room type.
