Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Guest Services Agent in San Diego to be the first point of contact for guests. You will manage front desk operations, assist guests, handle reservations, and ensure accurate processing of payments while upholding Sonesta Service standards.

The role requires strong communication, basic math, and a willingness to obtain ServSafe and possibly TIPS certifications. Shifts include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays atConsistent property locations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of previous hotel experience, or retail customer service preferred.
• Fluent English reading/writing; other languages beneficial.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math, budgeting, and variances preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
• ServSafe certification may be required.
• TIPS certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients.
• Register guests, issue keys, provide information, answer phones.
• Process cash and credit transactions following procedures and reports.
• Maintain security of cash, transactions, and guest information.
• May book reservations and up-sell rooms to maximize revenue.
• Follow seasonal reservation strategies for pricing and occupancy.
• Promote teamwork across shifts and departments.
• Ensure guest requests are fulfilled and services delivered.
• Issue and manage guest safe-deposit boxes.
• Comply with health, safety, and alcohol service laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
