Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is hiring a Guest Services Agent to support the front desk and Operations Manager. You will greet guests, register arrivals, answer calls, and help guests with services and information throughout shifts.

Ideal candidates have hotel or retail experience, fluent English, and strong communication skills. Training includes cash handling, safety compliance, and upselling opportunities; schedules include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of previous hotel experience, or retail customer service preferred.
• Background from the extended stay industry preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, P/L concepts, percentages, variances preferred.
• Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
• Will be required to obtain a ServSafe certification.
• May be required to obtain a TIPS certification.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room location.
• Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Process cash and credit card transactions in accordance with procedures, including deposits and reports.
• Maintain security of cash, credit card transactions, and guest information.
• May book guest reservations and upsell rooms to maximize revenue.
• Follow seasonal reservation strategies as communicated by management.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily coordination with shifts and management.
• Service shoppe and pour by ensuring guests receive services and products, following alcohol laws.
• Ensure guest special requests are fulfilled and proper delivery of services.
• Issue, control and release guest safe-deposit boxes.
• Comply with health, safety, and alcohol service laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
