Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Guest Services Agent to be the pivotal first contact for guests at the front desk. You will deliver Sonesta Service, register guests, handle reservations, process payments, and assist with guest inquiries to ensure memorable stays.

Position requires a high school diploma, ability to work mornings/evenings/weekends/holidays, fluent English, and hospitality or retail experience. Training on front desk systems will be provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of previous hotel experience, or retail customer service preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
• May be required to obtain ServSafe certification and TIPS certification.

Responsibilities

• Register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room location.
• Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Process cash and credit card transactions accurately and securely.
• Maintain security of cash, credit card transactions, and guest information.
• Routinely book guest reservations and upsell rooms when possible.
• Follow seasonal reservation strategy for pricing and room type.
• Support teamwork and quality service through coordination with shifts and management.
• Serve beverages and products in accordance with local laws.
• Fulfill special guest requests and ensure delivery of services.
• Issue and release guest safe-deposit boxes.
• Comply with health, safety, and alcohol-service laws.
