Job summary

Highgate Hotels in New Orleans seeks a Guest Service Agent to provide attentive, courteous check-in/check-out service and guest assistance while maximizing room revenue and occupancy.

You will greet guests, handle inquiries, coordinate with departments, and maintain a friendly, efficient front desk operation in a busy luxury environment.

Experience in hospitality and a warm demeanor are essential; flexible hours and standing for shifts are required. College coursework may be helpful.

Qualifications

• College coursework in related field helpful.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• Computer experience required.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome all guests approaching the Front Desk in accordance with Highgate Hotel standards.
• Maintain proper operation of the PBX console and ensure that all hotel standards are met (if applicable).
• Answer guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities and hours of operation in a timely manner.
• Balance and prepare individual paperwork for closing of shift according to hotel standards.
• Be familiar with all in-house groups and rate quotes; assist with reservations and check-ins/outs.
