Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Guest Service Agent to provide attentive, courteous service to guests during check-in, stay, and checkout, while helping maximize room revenue and occupancy. You will greet guests, operate the front desk systems, handle inquiries about services and local attractions, process reservations and packages, and uphold cash handling policies with a friendly, professional demeanor.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Computer experience required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Must communicate clearly and listen well.
• Must be a team player with a warm demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests at the Front Desk per standards.
• Operate PBX console and maintain front desk standards.
• Answer guest inquiries about services, hours, and amenities.
• Log and deliver packages, mail, and messages to guests and meeting rooms.
• Review Front Office log and Trace File daily.
• Answer inquiries about restaurants, transportation, entertainment, etc.
• Follow cash handling and credit policies.
• Be aware of rates, packages and promotions as listed in the Red Book.
• Know in-house groups and dates; quote rates accordingly.
• Operate Front Desk computer system confidently.
• Balance and close shift paperwork; maintain promotions.
• Maintain a clean work area and assist with guest services.
