Job summary

Piedmont Airlines is seeking a Unit Manager, Customer Operations in Ground Handling to lead the department's day-to-day activities, coaching staff and ensuring safe equipment handling. You will preplan manpower and equipment, supervise supervisors and agents, and drive adherence to policies and service standards.

The role requires proven team leadership, independent work ability, conflict management, and strong Excel/Office skills.

Qualifications

Proven success as a Team Leader with ability to preplan manpower and equipment.
Ability to work independently, set and meet deadlines.
Ability to work with all levels of management and support staff.
Able to defuse conflicts among team members.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Prior experience with internal controls processes for accountable items.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations to meet company goals and customer expectations.
Coach and provide career development to staff.
Correct non-compliant behavior and enforce corrective action.
Implement corporate policies and goals into daily routines.
Manage a team including supervisors and agents.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports.
Schedule staff, assignments, rotations, breaks, and overtime; provide back-up for absences.
Conduct employee performance reviews.
