Job summary

Piedmont Airlines is seeking a motivated Unit Manager, Control Center in Ground Handling to oversee station operations and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for flight operations performance.

The role requires familiarity with FAA and security regulations, strong team leadership, and the ability to manage schedules, irregular operations, and data reporting. Evening and weekend shifts may be included.

Qualifications

• Proven success as a Team Leader with ability to pre-plan and identify issues well in advance.
• Familiarity with FAA and Aircraft Operator Standard Security Program regulations.
• Ability to be self-driven, highly motivated, creative, and results-oriented.
• Ability to prioritize and execute with a sense of urgency and precision.
• Ability to work well under pressure, in a variety of work schedules, and during irregular operations.
• Ability to work well with all levels of management and support staff.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Identify daily challenges that may hinder operational objectives and communicate operational plans effectively.
• Collaborate with all local operating departments and partner centers to interpret AA operational schedules.
• Serve as a liaison between Mainline and Regional workgroups for operational planning.
• Adjudicate and apply the Delay Code Handbook and Are You Ready (AYR) procedures.
• Investigate and resolve all operational irregularities in compliance with procedures.
• Identify opportunities for development of Control Center agents to advance the organization.
• Correct non-compliant behavior and conduct corrective action as required.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports.
