Job summary

As an Associate Engineering Intern at Sargent & Lundy, you will join a project team in the Grid business unit to assist senior engineers in executing project work across transmission and distribution engineering domains.

You will be exposed to designs, calculations, specifications, and procurement-related documents while supporting project reporting and data tracking. The role follows a hybrid pattern with three days in the office and two remote days this summer. This summer start targets 2027.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with a strong academic background.
• Candidates pursuing other engineering degrees may also be considered if they have relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data.
• Be involved in power designs and the preparation of documents and specifications for the procurement of major equipment, structures, and related installation services.
