Job summary

Associate Engineering Intern at Sargent & Lundy in the Grid business unit will assist engineers in executing project work related to transmission and distribution engineering. You will design and modify equipment, prepare documents, and support procurement activities while working under senior engineers.

The position is targeted for summer 2027 with a hybrid schedule (three days in office, two remote). Ideal candidates are enrolled in BS/MS in engineering with strong GPA and relevant coursework.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a BS or MS in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Candidates pursuing other engineering degrees may be considered if they have relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on project reporting, tracking and evaluating project activities and data.
• Be involved in power designs and the preparation of documents and specifications for procurement of major equipment, structures, and related installation services.
