Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is offering an Associate EngineeringIntern position within the Grid business unit, collaborating with senior engineers on transmission and distribution projects. The role provides exposure to engineering calculations, specifications, and design tasks in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical disciplines.

The internship follows a hybrid model: three days in the office and two remote days, with a target start date in summer 2027.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in BS or MS in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with a strong academic background.
• Candidates from other engineering disciplines may be considered if they have relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on project reporting tasks, such as tracking progress and data.
• Be involved in power designs and the preparation of documents and specifications for procurement of major equipment, structures, and related installation services.
