Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an Associate Engineering Intern to join our Grid team, supporting project execution in civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering disciplines. You'll assist senior engineers on design work and engineering calculations for transmission and distribution projects.

This internship offers a hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two remote days, starting in summer 2027.

Qualifications

Active enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with a strong academic background.
Candidates pursuing other engineering degrees may also be considered if they have relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power.
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data.
Be involved in power designs and the preparation of documents and specifications for the procurement of major equipment, structures, and related installation services.
