Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Associate Engineering Intern to join its Grid business unit. You will collaborate with senior engineers on projects involving transmission and distribution engineering, applying Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering concepts.

Hybrid schedule allows three days in the office and two remote days. The role emphasizes preparing calculations, tracking project activities, and supporting procurement documents for major equipment.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a BS or MS in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with a strong academic background.
• Candidates pursuing other engineering degrees may be considered if they have relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 preferred.
• Prior related internship or co-op experience in our business area.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on project reporting, tracking and evaluating project activities, progress and related data.
• Be involved in power designs and the preparation of documents and specifications for procurement of major equipment, structures, and related installation services.
