Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Associate Engineering Intern to join the Grid business unit and support a project team in the design and execution of transmission and distribution projects. The position is intended for an upcoming start in summer 2027, with duties including engineering calculations, reports, and design documentation.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in BS/MS in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with a strong academic background.
• Candidates pursuing other engineering degrees may also be considered if they have relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, progress, and data.
• Be involved in power designs and the preparation of documents and specifications for procurement of major equipment, structures, and related installation services.
