Job summary

Sargent & Lundy invites motivated engineering students to join as an Associate Engineering Intern in the Grid business unit. You will assist senior engineers on transmission and distribution projects, preparing calculations, specifications, and design documents while learning through hands-on tasks.

The role supports a hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two remote days, targeting a summer 2027 start.

Qualifications

Active enrollment in a BS or MS in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with a strong academic background.
Candidates pursuing other engineering degrees may be considered if they have relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power.
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
Work on project reporting, tracking and evaluating project activities, progress, and data.
Be involved in power designs and the procurement documentation for major equipment, structures, and related installation services.
