Job summary

Sargent & Lundy’s Grid team invites an Associate Engineering Intern to contribute to engineering work on transmission and distribution projects. The internship supports the execution of project tasks under senior engineers, with a three-day in-office, two-day remote hybrid schedule.

Open to Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering students pursuing BS or MS, with ABET-accredited programs preferred. Strong organizational skills and a proactive, independent work style are valued.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in BS or MS in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with a strong academic background.
• Candidates from other engineering degrees may be considered if they have relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on project reporting, tracking progress, and associated data.
• Be involved in power designs and the preparation of documents and specifications for the procurement of major equipment, structures, and related installation services.
