Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Texas is seeking an IDEA Interventionist Teacher to work with small groups of students in Reading and Math to close gaps within one school year. The role uses Direct Instruction, progress monitoring, and intensive, research-based interventions as part of IDEA’s AP for All initiative.

This grant-funded position requires work on allowable grant activities, with additional after-school tutoring opportunities and stipends based on certifications and campus leadership.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
• Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred)
• Licenses or Certifications: State certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Teach CSI instruction to small groups in 3rd-8th grade, including students in various education programs.
• Teach district-approved intervention to Kinder-2nd grade and 9th-12th grade groups as assigned.
• Coordinate with general education teachers to support intervention students.
• Implement standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans; track progress and update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate student progress with families weekly.
• Maintain behavior management aligned with campus initiatives and support culture.
