Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Manager, Outsourced Finance & Accounting for government contracting clients. You will oversee the full lifecycle of engagements, from proposal development to staff oversight and final work product review.

You will manage client relationships, report financial information, ensure compliant accounting under FAR, CAS and DCAA, and support billing and project profitability. The role requires 6+ years in accounting with leadership experience, CPA preferred, advanced Excel,

Qualifications

• Six or more years of progressive accounting experience, including three or more years leading accounting teams in a government contracting environment.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirements.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and Word; advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, PROCAS or similar ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manages the full-life cycle of outsourced finance and accounting engagements for GovCon clients.
• Oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Ensures accurate revenue recognition, complex contract accounting, and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures per GovCon regulations.
• Ensures compliance with FAR, CAS, DCAA, and federal contracting regulations while maintaining a DCAA-compliant accounting system.
• Oversees indirect cost structures, provisional billing rates, and forward pricing support.
• Oversees project setup, funding, labor charging, contract modifications, invoicing, cost allocations, profitability, and project closeout.
• Leads budgeting, forecasting, indirect rate planning, and financial analysis to support executive decision-making.
