Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Manager, Outsourced Finance & Accounting for Government Contracting engagements in the U.S. The role leads accounting teams, manages client relationships, and drives financial performance across portfolios.

You will oversee close processes, GAAP reporting, and compliance with FAR, CAS, and DCAA, while supervising associates and training staff on GovCon methodologies and tools. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, required.
• Six (6) or more years of progressive accounting experience, including three (3) or more years of leading accounting teams in a government contracting environment, required.
• CPA or CPA candidate, preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, required.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, PROCAS, and other government contractor ERP systems, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full life cycle of all assigned GovCon outsource engagements, including staff assignment and oversight.
• Oversee close processes (monthly, quarterly, annual) and GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition, complex contract accounting, and maintaining GovCon accounting policies.
• Ensure FAR, CAS, DCAA compliance and an operating DCAA-compliant accounting system.
• Oversee indirect cost structures, provisional billing rates, and forward pricing support.
• Manage project setup, funding, labor charging, invoicing, cost allocations, profitability, and closeout.
