Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Principal Project Governance Leader to establish and govern our global PMO capability across regions, ensuring Capex investments align with enterprise priorities and deliver intended outcomes.

You will oversee governance, portfolio management, delivery oversight, and PMO systems for a $150M annual Capex portfolio, driving consistency, transparency, and benefits realization across multi-regional operations. This remote role requires travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

Degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in PMO in regulated environments.
Experience leading global PMO organizations.
Professional certifications (PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, MSP, Agile) preferred.
Experience in complex global environments with significant capital investment responsibility.
Strong governance, portfolio management, and benefits realization expertise.
Ability to influence senior leaders on prioritization and investment decisions.

Responsibilities

Provide enterprise-wide governance across Avantor’s Capex portfolio and ensure alignment with strategy.
Lead global PMO governance across regions and business units.
Drive Capex investment planning, project controls, and performance reporting.
Ensure projects meet business case KPIs, benefits, and strategic outcomes.
Oversee Gate 5c closure and validation of project outcomes.
Deliver executive reports linking investment to value realization.
