Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Principal Project Governance Leader for global PMO governance of a $150M Capex portfolio. This remote role includes 20% travel and requires leading governance, portfolio management, and delivery oversight across regions and functions.

You will drive standardization, accountability, and value realization, ensuring projects meet business-case KPIs and strategic goals while providing executive-level insights and governance across the enterprise.

Qualifications

Degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management or related field.
10+ years of progressive PMO leadership experience.
Experience leading global PMO in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Lead the PMO Governance function globally across Avantor, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and Capex investment priorities.
Define and maintain a global PMO operating model supporting oversight of a $150M annual Capex portfolio.
Establish standards and frameworks to focus on highest-priority initiatives.
Drive accountability, transparency, and outcome-based delivery.
Provide leadership, coaching, and capability development across global and regional teams.
Establish and govern a global portfolio management framework overseeing $150M in annual Capex investment.
Ensure alignment between strategic priorities and capital allocation decisions.
Oversee global resource and capacity planning across the Capex portfolio.
Define global project lifecycle frameworks including Gate 5c closure requirements.
Monitor project performance against baselines and business-case commitments.
Deliver executive reporting linking investment, delivery, and value realized.
