Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Principal Portfolio Project Manager to lead a global portfolio of capital investments and programs across Engineering, Operations, EHS, IT, and Real Estate. The role combines portfolio governance with hands-on project execution to maximize business value.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization, manage budgets up to $100M per project, and report to senior leadership with clear, data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Manufacturing, Business, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive project, programme, and portfolio management experience, including leadership of global CAPEX projects and strategic business initiatives.
• PMI/PMP certification or willingness to obtain within a defined timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Lead portfolio management across multiple functions (Engineering, Operations, EHS, PSM, Real Estate, IT, Supply Chain, Commercial).
• Drive end-to-end project/program delivery, governance, and executive reporting.
• Balance investments, resources, risks, and benefits to maximize business value.
