Job summary

Avantor is seeking a highly experienced Principal Portfolio Project Manager to lead a portfolio of global programs and capital investments within its Life Sciences business. The role oversees portfolio governance, executive reporting, and cross-functional project execution to maximize business value.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years of progressive PM/Portfolio leadership, PMP certification, and a proven track record of delivering large-scale CAPEX initiatives in regulated industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Manufacturing, Business, or related discipline.
• 12+ years of progressive project, program, and portfolio management experience.
• PMP certification from PMI, or willingness to obtain within a defined timeframe.
• Experience leading global CAPEX projects and cross-functional business programs.
• Experience in Life Sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, or similarly regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple global programs and CAPEX projects across manufacturing and operations.
• Drive end-to-end program execution from concept to commissioning and handover.
• Develop and maintain portfolio governance, stage-gate processes, and executive reporting.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across functions and manage external vendors and regulators.
• Maintain budgets, schedules, risks, and benefit realization tracking.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to PMO staff.
