Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Global Mining Practice Business Development Leader to drive strategic account development and major pursuits across a dynamic global mining sector. You will lead client engagement, shape market strategy and coordinate HDR’s integrated capabilities for mining clients worldwide.

You will develop growth plans, manage prioritised accounts, and mentor teams to capture opportunities and build durable market positions in North America, Europe and Australia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, business or a related field; advanced degree is an asset.
• Professional engineering, geoscience or other relevant registration, or equivalent senior mining-industry experience.
• Experience winning high-value, multidisciplinary mining assignments and developing long-term strategic accounts in North America, Europe and Australia.
• Experience working across multiple commodities, geographies, regulatory jurisdictions and stages of the mine life cycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead global business development strategy to grow bookings, revenue, backlog and market share in priority mining markets.
• Build strategic client relationships with mining companies and key partners, with understanding of assets, programs and priorities.
• Drive major pursuits: lead capture planning, positioning and proposal strategy for complex mining opportunities.
• Shape market strategy: translate commodity outlooks and client plans into priorities across geographies and services.
• Coordinate integrated capabilities across HDR: align mining, water, environmental, power, transportation, infrastructure and advisory resources.
• Develop the team: coach and mentor client managers, technical leaders and pursuit teams in account planning and capture management.
• Strengthen market presence: build partnerships and recruit talent aligned with growth priorities.
