Job summary

Troutman Pepper Locke LLP is seeking a Docketing Analyst to manage IP docketing for patents and trademarks. You will maintain docket portfolios, monitor deadlines, and ensure accuracy across domestic and international matters, while safeguarding client confidentiality.

Responsibilities include handling mail, updating PATTSY records, auditing data, and producing reports for attorneys. A five-year IP docketing background and strong proofreading are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Intellectual Property docketing experience in Trademark.
• Strong experience with domestic and foreign trademark and TTAB matters.
• High school degree or equivalent; paralegal studies beneficial.
• In-depth knowledge of US and international trademark law and ability to apply to docket actions.
• Excellent proofreading skills and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Read, sort, and distribute incoming mail from USPTO and foreign entities.
• Ensure daily docket clearance and maintain filing logs.
• Provide guidance on complex docket-related questions to IP team.
• Maintain an accurate docket database and generate reports.
• Save client documents to PATTSY; upload to matter-level PATTSY page.
• Process abandoned and/or inactive files.
• Maintain electronic docket calendars for domestic/international patents and trademarks.
• Maintain confidentiality of the Docket Department and clients.
• Ensure accuracy of docketing of documents per CFR and client requirements.
• Lead audits and mass updates of bibliographic data; assist with intakes.
