Job summary

Nippon Express USA is seeking a logistics support professional to prepare import shipments and manage documentation for assigned customers. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, basic data-entry skills, and knowledge of import/export software; flexibility to work across weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some computer skills including data entry and maintenance.
• Some knowledge of general and Import/Export Computer application technology desirable.
• Some knowledge of international commerce (Incoterms, method, customs regulations) desirable.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of import shipments and distribution of Import Documents.
• General business support functions as assigned.
• Prepare import shipments for assigned customers, including customs clearance, shipping, labeling and distribution of cargo.
• Prepare import documents for distribution to brokerage department and/or customers’ broker.
• Coordinate pick up and delivery orders with trucking companies, airlines, steamship lines and bonded facilities to process shipments efficiently.
• Filing and data entry; issue freight bills and invoices and collect unpaid invoices within credit terms.
