Job summary

AIT Worldwide Logistics in Itasca, IL seeks an International Operations Agent I to coordinate daily import/export shipments for USA & Mexico across air and ocean modes. You’ll work from customer requirements, prepare quotations, set schedules, and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include handling documentation, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with local sales teams. A bachelor’s degree is preferred; 2+ years of export/import ops experience is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred) or equivalent
• 2+ years industry experience in export/import operations (Required)
• Knowledge of ITAR, DG or TSA work experience/regulations
• General Computer Skills
• NVOCC knowledge
• Actual Time of Arrival (ATA) knowledge
• FAA knowledge
• Export Regulations knowledge
• Customs and Border Protection (CBP) knowledge
• Cargo-wise within 1-1/2 Yrs (Required)
• Microsoft Office suite within 1-1/2 Yrs (Required)

Responsibilities

• Qualify shipping requirements and obtain details (regulations, certificates, documentation) for quotations and operation.
• Prepare profitable quotations accurately.
• Set shipping schedules and coordinate with customers, deliverers, and ports for timely departures and arrivals.
• Coordinate day-to-day import/export of products, reviewing orders and documents.
• Track delays, damages, and resolve customer issues.
• Manage all aspects of air and/or ocean international operations, including billing.
