Job summary

A.P. Moller - Maersk is seeking a CHB Operations Associate to coordinate and execute shipments to meet client service levels on a daily basis. You will support a group of client accounts by expediting shipments from start to finish and developing familiarity with their import programs.

Responsibilities include processing customs entries, coordinating with forwarders and carriers, and ensuring timely release of shipments. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CHB
• 6-12 months of experience in the industry
• Knowledge of Section 232 IEEPA tariff structure
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Persistently drives issues to closure
• Well organized and detail oriented, even under pressure
• Works well with others to achieve results and foster teamwork
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required, or equivalent work experience
• Customs House Brokerage License preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Providing customer service to assigned customers and assisting customers with questions and requests for information
• Processing Customs entries and PGA for clearance of goods, ensuring full compliance of all Customs and PGA regulations
• Opens entry files and processes entries according to outlined KPI
• Coordinates clearance of shipments with forwarders, Steamship Lines, Airlines
• Completes customer billing and/or other required reports
• Completes tracking and tracing for inbound shipments
• Coordination of Operations for shipments from airline, ocean piers and CFS to destination
• Upload of required documentation into operating system
• Maintain customer SOPs and updates as needed
