Job summary

A.P. Moller - Maersk is seeking a CHB Operations Associate in Charlotte, NC to manage end-to-end customs brokerage operations for designated customer accounts.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of customs brokerage or related industry experience.
• At least 2 years in a CHB or operational support environment preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working under pressure.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).
• Customs House Broker License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of daily customs brokerage operations for assigned customers, including responding to questions and providing shipment updates.
• Prepare and process U.S. Customs entries and PGA filings, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
• Open and manage entry files in alignment with KPIs and service standards.
• Coordinate shipment clearance with freight forwarders, lines, and CFS to ensure timely release.
• Track and trace inbound shipments from port or airport through final delivery.
• Ensure all required documentation and entry packages are uploaded into operating systems.
• Complete customer billing, delivery orders, and required operational reports.
• Maintain and update customer SOPs as needed.
• Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners to support coverage and peak-volume needs.
