Job summary

Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Inc. (HIMSS) seeks a senior accounting leader to manage the organization’s accounting operations and financial close. You will establish policies, oversee internal controls, and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting for HIMSS and related entities.

Lead external audits and tax filings while guiding the CFO, CEO, and management on GAAP and financial strategy. Hybrid work options are available and encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting; MS or MBA preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• Minimum of ten years in industry or public accounting, including remote teams and international operations.
• Strong accounting and analytical skills with ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct Accounting Department activities for monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
• Develop and enforce financial policies to safeguard assets.
• Manage accounts receivable aging, billings, and cash receipts.
• Oversee accounts payable, payroll, and tax compliance with Assistant Controller oversight.
• Ensure GAAP compliance for currency translation and foreign tax liability.
• Lead system enhancements and liaise with NetSuite, Concur, and ADP.
