Job summary

HIMSS, a global health IT association, seeks a Senior Accounting leader to head accounting operations, ensure timely financial closes, and maintain internal controls. Delivers reconciled information for internal and external statements and oversees audits and tax filings with the CFO and executive team.

The role directs accounting for HIMSS and international entities, drives policy, and improves transparency of financial data. Hybrid US-based role with global scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; MS or MBA preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• Ten+ years experience in accounting with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience with international operations and remote teams.
• Strong ethics and analytical skills; GAAP proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Accounting Department for monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
• Develop and enforce financial policies to safeguard assets.
• Manage accounts receivable, payroll, AP, and disbursements.
• Lead subsidiaries’ accounting activities and currency/foreign tax compliance.
• Oversee financial systems, audits, and external relationships.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff; ensure timely reporting.
