Job summary

Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Inc. seeks a senior accounting leader to drive close processes, policy development, and financial reporting for HIMSS and related entities.

You will lead international finance activities, manage system upgrades, and mentor staff while partnering with the CFO/CEO on strategic needs. This role supports a hybrid work model and requires strong ethics and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; MS or MBA preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• Ten years (full-time) accounting experience, including international operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting department for monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Develop and enforce financial policies to safeguard assets.
• Manage A/R aging, billings, cash receipts, and merchant activity.
• Oversee AP, POs, payroll, taxes, and cash controls.
• Supervise international offices for currency/ VAT compliance.
• Maintain system controls and data integrity for financials.
• Lead system upgrades with NetSuite, Concur, and ADP.
• Plan audit work papers and deliver reconciliations timely.
• Advise CFO/CEO on GAAP and financial reporting.
• Improve accuracy and transparency of accounting records.
• Direct fixed asset reporting and inventory processes.
• Mentor staff and support performance development.
• Perform other duties as needed.
