Job summary

Cogent Communications is seeking a results-driven sales professional in Herndon, VA to identify and close new B2B telecom opportunities within a regional territory. You will engage with key decision makers via calls, emails, and meetings, and will position Cogent’s IP transit and data center services to drive revenue growth.

The role emphasizes consultative selling, prospecting, and leveraging Cogent’s global network to win new business, while meeting revenue targets in a fast-paced team

Qualifications

• 3-8+ years of solid B2B sales experience in telecom with collocation, wholesale and data transit/transport.
• Track record of success in direct hunting, B2B sales and meeting quotas.
• Ability to identify, qualify and generate new business via prospecting and research.
• Strong oral and written communication; ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory.
• Qualify and generate opportunities via direct calling, email and meetings with Key Decision Makers.
• Complement prospecting with onsite customer meetings as needed.
• Use consultative selling to position connectivity solutions leveraging Cogent's global footprint.
