Cogent Communications in Houston seeks an experienced Regional Sales Executive to identify and close new business opportunities across global IP transit and data services markets. This in-office role emphasizes mentorship, hands-on training, and a strong sales culture.

Hunting and qualifying opportunities, direct outreach to decision makers, and presenting connectivity solutions are core duties. A proven telecom sales track record and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• 3-8+ years of solid, B2B telecom sales experience with collocation, wholesale, data transit and transport.
• Proven track record of direct hunting sales and quota achievement.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify and generate new business via prospecting and research.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are a must.
• CRM experience and MS Office proficiency a plus.
• A college degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory and global target markets.
• Direct calling, email and outreach to Key Decision Makers to qualify and generate opportunities.
• Supplement prospecting with onsite customer meetings as needed.
• Use consultative selling to position connectivity solutions.
• Leverage Cogent's global network footprint to meet customer needs.
