Job summary

Cogent Communications in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Regional Sales professional to drive new business in the telecom space, including IP transit, content hosts, carriers, and wholesale clients.

You will prospect via calls and emails, meet clients on-site as needed, and use consultative selling to position Cogent’s global network footprint for connectivity solutions. A college degree is preferred, and earnings include uncapped commissions with tenure-based increases.

Qualifications

• 3–8+ years of B2B telecom sales experience with collocation and data transit.
• Proven track record in hunting, quota attainment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory via sourcing and hunting.
• Use direct calling, email and contact efforts to qualify and generate new business with Key Decision Makers.
• Compliment prospecting and selling efforts through onsite customer meetings as needed.
• Position services for new business by leveraging Cogent's global network footprint.
• Work to support Cogent customers and prospects by promoting connectivity solutions.
