Job summary

Cogent Communications is seeking a results-driven B2B Sales professional to expand the company’s IP transit and data services footprint in a global territory. You will hunt, qualify, and close new opportunities by engaging Key Decision Makers across mid-market and enterprise accounts.

Responsibilities include direct calling, emails, onsite meetings, and leveraging Cogent’s network footprint to position connectivity solutions. A track record of quota attainment in telecom sales is expected.

Qualifications

• 3-8+ years of solid B2B telecom sales experience with collocation, wholesale experience and data transit/transport.
• Proven track record of direct hunting sales and quota attainment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory via hunting to identify new business opportunities in a global sales territory and target market segments (IP Transit, Content creators/hosters, Carriers/wholesalers, Netcentric companies).
• Directly contact Key Decision Makers through calls, emails, and outreach to qualify and generate opportunities.
• Supplement prospecting and selling with onsite customer meetings as needed.
• Position Cogent services for new business by leveraging the global network footprint including buildings, data centers and colocation facilities.
• Maintain and develop relationships to position connectivity solutions and drive revenue growth.
