Job summary

Sonic Drive-In in Edgewater, MD is seeking a General Manager/Operating Partner to lead the drive-in’s operations and staff, ensure guest satisfaction, and drive financial performance. This exempt role requires recruiting, interviewing, hiring, coaching, scheduling, cost control, and maintaining safety and cleanliness while upholding company standards.

Expect 50+ hour weeks, with nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies in business, restaurant management, or related fields preferred.
• Experience: At least three years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred).
• Experience running a restaurant shift without supervision.
• Experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and managing employees.
• Knowledge/Skills: Labor and employment laws; health and safety regulations.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, manage, direct, coach, lead, schedule, assign, discipline, and terminate staff.
• Manage staff compensation levels per company guidelines.
• Supervise operations to provide an optimal guest experience.
• Handle opening and closing duties.
• Handle guest issues and employee concerns.
• Forecast and adjust food, labor, inventory to maximize cost-control and quality.
• Lead team meetings and maintain records and reports.
• Develop, implement, and manage local marketing and business performance plans.
• Ensure maintenance of drive-in equipment and facilities.
• Supervise vendor performance and compliance with policies.
• Attend to regular sanitation duties and regulatory compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
