Job summary

Sonic Drive-In is seeking a General Manager to lead a drive-in restaurant’s operations and employees. You will recruit and train staff, oversee scheduling, and manage guest satisfaction. The role requires strong leadership and the ability to drive cost control and performance.

This position emphasizes accountability for opening/closing, food safety, labor management, and local marketing efforts. Expect long hours, weekends, and holidays as part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Advanced studies in business, restaurant management, or related fields preferred.
• At least three years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred).
• Experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and managing employees.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Basic computer, math, accounting, and reading skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, manage, direct, coach, lead, schedule, assign, discipline, and terminate staff.
• Manage staff compensation levels per company guidelines and control labor costs.
• Supervise operations to ensure a high-quality guest experience and efficient service.
• Oversee opening/closing duties and daily recordkeeping.
• Develop and implement action plans for local marketing and business performance.
• Maintain equipment and manage vendor performance.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Handle guest and employee concerns and ensure regular attendance.
