Job summary

Talent With Heart is seeking a General Manager to lead our HVAC/plumbing division in California. You will own the division's operational and financial success, oversee field technicians, dispatch, and the full P&L, while driving safety, quality, and growth.

You will recruit and mentor licensed plumbers and office staff, optimize dispatch and job workflows, and develop sales strategies to expand commercial maintenance contracts and residential memberships.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of experience in managing projects in construction; or bachelor’s degree in construction science or related fields; or an equivalent certification combined with experience, and education preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and work experience in the trade of HVAC and general construction.
• California Driver License, with clean DMV record
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Familiarity with computers and software programs for job costing, scheduling, and estimating
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, overtime and weekends as required

Responsibilities

• P&L Ownership: Manage the division's budget, track labor and material costs, and implement strategic pricing models to hit gross profit targets.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor licensed plumbers, apprentices, and office staff; foster accountability, safety, and craftsmanship.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee daily dispatching, scheduling, and job workflows to maximize technician efficiency and minimize call-back rates.
• Business Growth: Develop and execute sales strategies to expand commercial maintenance contracts and residential membership plans.
• Customer Relations: Act as the final escalation point for inquiries and project disputes; maintain an excellent brand reputation.
